Juanita Annette Metzger, 83, of Greenwood, IN, formerly of Danville, IL, passed away at 1:01 a.m. on April 22, 2020 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis, IN.
</p>
<p>
Juanita was born on January 19, 1937 the daughter of Farrell Wilbur and Helen Louise (Leatherman) Wallace in Rossville, IL. She married John "Jack" Metzger on April 2, 1960 in Danville, IL.
</p>
<p>
Survivors include her husband, John "Jack" Metzger of Greenwood, IN, two sons, Mark (Cyndi) Metzger of Northford, CT and David Metzger of Lathrop, CA, one daughter Laurie Brooks of Shelbyville, IN, three brothers, William "Bill" (Judy) Wallace of Gloucester, VA, Patrick "Pat" (Mary Jane) Wallace of Evansville, IN and Michael "Mike" Wallace of Danville, IL, as well as 5 grandchildren, Andrew (Olivia) Metzger, Alyssa Metzger, Nolan Metzger, Colton Metzger and Kim Whitaker and four great-grandchildren, Callie Metzger, Shelbie Whitaker, Bailee Whitaker and Erik Whitaker.

Juanita is preceded in death by her parents and beloved son-in-law, Ralph "Roger" Brooks.
</p>
<p>
Juanita was a member of the 2nd Church of Christ in Danville, IL for over 15 years. She was a recent member of the Greenwood Christian Church in Greenwood, IN and she helped found the Dublin Christian Church in Dublin, CA. Juanita was a life-long Chicago Cubs fan and rarely missed watching a game. She loved to camp with her husband of 60 years, and they had visited all 48 contiguous states. She also enjoyed reading, working puzzles of all kinds, and was an avid NASCAR fan, attending races all across the country. Juanita was proud of being on the National Honors Society in High School. She loved her husband, her children and absolutely adored her grandchildren. She anxiously awaited the birth of her newest great-granddaughter Callie Grace Metzger.

A private family Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 1, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Pastor Matt Giebler will officiate. Private family visitation will be held from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
