Letter: Why I am voting for Michelle Davis in District 58

To the editor:

Ms. Michelle Davis is running for State Representative as a Republican for District 58. Ms. Davis has lived in Johnson County for most of her life and cares about her community. I would like to share why I will be voting for her.

Michelle has been the Director at Central Nine (C9) Career Center for Adult Education for 7 years. She is caring, considerate and fair and is always up for a challenge. When elected, she will be the voice for her district, Johnson County, as well as for the state of Indiana as she meets monthly with the Department of Workforce Development Commissioner Fred Payne and serves on the Governor’s Workforce Council Strategic Planning sub-committee.

Michelle has been very active with adult education throughout her district serving as President-elect and President on the Indiana Association for Adult and Continuing Education (IAACE) board. As President-elect, she was responsible for organizing the IAACE conference.

Through the years, the Department of Workforce Development challenged the career centers across the state to change their procedures and guidelines to meet the state’s adult education goals. She always led the C9 adult education team with enthusiasm to meet those goals so they could better the lives of C9’s students. She was always an inspiration to her staff to work toward those goals.

Michelle received her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Ball State University and her Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Career and Technical Education from Purdue University.

I firmly believe that Michelle Davis is the best candidate for State Representative.

Barbara Miller

Constituent
