<p>Golf</p><p>Rowen wins Mid-Am title</p><p>Sean Rowen of Greenwood torched the front nine at Purdue’s Ackerman-Allen course on Tuesday and held on for a one-stroke victory at the IGA Mid-Amateur Championship.</p><p>This was Rowen’s third title in the event. He previously won in 2011 and 2016.</p><p>Rowen had five birdies during a bogey-free first nine before weathering a 4-over-par stretch on holes 10 through 13. He bounced back with a birdie on 14 and an eagle on the par-5 16th to finish the tournament with a 70-68—138 (-6), just enough to edge runners-up Greg Chalas and Eric Gessner (-5).</p>
