Cougars top Lancers for title
In a preview of their first-round sectional match later this week, Greenwood Christian swept Edinburgh 25-11, 25-10 to claim the championship of the Lancer Volleyball Invitational on Saturday.
GCA had advanced to the finals with two-set wins over Speedway and Oldenburg Academy, while Edinburgh had edged Jac-Cen-Del in three sets and swept West Washington.
Trojans fall in three
Center Grove closed the regular season with a 25-14, 25-13, 25-12 loss to Yorktown. Jenna Otto had 18 assists and 11 digs in defeat for the Trojans.
Girls soccer
Roncalli wins sectional title
Goals from Nora Jordan and Kathryn Madriz lifted Roncalli to a 2-0 win over Lawrence North on Saturday in the final of the Class 3A Warren Central Sectional. Ainsley Newett assisted on the Madriz goal, and Emma Agresta posted the shutout in net.
