Woodmen double up Falcons

Greenwood took both ends of a dual meet with Perry Meridian on Tuesday, with the girls earning a 101-81 victory and the boys winning by a similar 103-83 margin.

The girls got two wins apiece from Naomi Weaver (200 freestyle, 100 butterfly), Grace Nuhfer (200 IM, 100 free) and Alayna Kenworthy (50 free, 100 backstroke); Hailey Peckinpaugh took the 500 free and Madison Peckinpaugh was first in the 100 breaststroke.

On the boys side, Luke Ellington (IM, 500 free), Joe Sheets (50 free, 100 breast and Conner Peckinpaugh (100 free, 100 backstroke) were double winners for the Woodmen, while Andrew Mears won the butterfly.

Grizzly Cubs split with Quakers

Franklin had a tight meet with Plainfield, with the boys pulling out a 101-85 win and the girls taking a narrow 93-92 defeat.

The Grizzly Cub girls got first-place finishes from Camy Quiggins (diving), Paige Lawrence (500 freestyle), Alea Hensley (100 butterfly), Allie Lacy (100 free) and Lillian Lacy (100 backstroke). The boys were led by wins from Drake Keller (diving), Anthony Ries (100 fly) and Isaac Layton (500 free).

Grizzly Cubs rout Pioneers

Franklin manhandled Mooresville, 70-3, on Tuesday. The Grizzly Cubs got pins from Ryan Million, Luke Bechert, Dayson Lashlee, Jude Barger, Noah McCann, Tyler Fuqua, Harris Eason and Nolan Skaggs, a major decision from Caleb Ingram and wins from Jake Bechert and Jacob Johnson.

Roncalli dominates tourney opener

Maddie Bischoff scored 22 points to lead Roncalli to a 79-35 thrashing of Beech Grove in the opening round of the Marion County tournament on Wednesday. Roncalli (8-0), which also got double-figure games from Claire Lindsey (16), Jordan Hendricks (14) and Emma Halter (10), hosts Indianapolis Lutheran in a quarterfinal tonight.
