FRANKLIN
Don Roach, 91, of Franklin, Indiana passed away on Thursday evening, December 10, 2020, at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born on September 16, 1929 in Odon, Indiana. Don is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughters, Shannon Smith (John) and Dana Burdick (Matthew); grandchildren, Tyler Roach (Sasha), Jordan Roach, Blake Roach, Stephen Smith (Ginger), Jake Burdick, Mesa Burdick, and the mother of his children, Jane Roach Tafflinger. He was preceded in passing by his sister Naomi Bough and his son’s Steven Roach and Eric Roach.
Don was a 1947 graduate of Odon High School. He served in the Army from 1951 to 1953 and the Army Reserve from 1953 to 1957. Don’s career included being a mechanic, a Shop Foreman for Collins Oldsmobile, and an Account Manager for Allison’s Transmission in Indianapolis. Don was a member of the North Park Masonic Lodge, No. 646, AF & AM, Indianapolis, the Indiana American Legion and the VFW in Odon, Indiana.
A celebration of Don’s life will be held on Wednesday, December 16. Public visitation is 2:30-4:30 at the Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, Franklin, Indiana. The family and close friends service will be at 4:30 limited to 25 people.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. at the Walnut Hill Cemetery, at the corner of E. 1400 North and 900 East (West Street), Odon, Indiana.
