NINEVEH
Ronald Eugene Smith, 85, of Nineveh, Indiana, passed away on Monday, November 30th, 2020 in Danville, Indiana. He died of complications from the COVID-19 virus.
Ronald was born on June 20th, 1935 in Arkansas City, Kansas to the late Raymond Charles Smith Sr. and Mildred Ione (Armstrong) Smith.
Ronald was employed at Arkansas Louisiana Gas Company and worked as a supervisor until his retirement.
Ronald married the love of his life, the late Peggy Ann (Tyring) Smith, on March 3rd, 1956 in Boonville, Indiana. To say they loved each other would be an understatement; they were each other’s second half, lifelong companion, and best friend. They were inseparable. This year marked their 64th wedding anniversary. In the accompanying photo, Peggy holds Ronald’s hand welcoming him into eternity. They are together again at last.
Ronald is survived by his two sons, Ronald Keith Smith, Brian Lee Smith; his eight grandchildren, Christopher Smith, Michael Smith, Andrew Smith, Matthew Smith, Stephanie Pruden, Elizabeth Mee, Trevor Smith, Josiah Smith; his three sisters, Vonna Basgall, Verna Jett, Karen Rogers; his two brothers, Norman Smith, and David Smith.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Sr. and Mildred, and his older brother, Raymond C. Smith Jr.
No services are to be held at this time.
