INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA
Carol (Caudell) Gilbert, 86, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2021 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Carol was born on September 12, 1934 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Ralph P. Caudell Sr. and Irma (Russell) Caudell.
Carol was employed at L.S. Ayres and worked in the accounts payable department for 27 years until her retirement in 1992. She had a strong, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and was a member of Suburban Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. Carol enjoyed spending her leisure time reading her Bible, playing with her dogs, knitting, and crocheting.
Carol is survived by her beloved husband, Prentiss “Tex” Gilbert of Indianapolis, Indiana, and her two sisters, Shirley Caudell and Rita (Carl) Steel, both of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Carol was preceded in death by her son, Curtis E. Gilbert; her parents, Ralph Sr. and Irma; her brother, Ralph “Skip” P. Caudell Jr.; her sister, Dixie Warren; Blanche and Sydney Weber, who raised her.
A funeral service will be conducted on Monday, January 11, 2021 at 7:00 PM at Suburban Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana with visitation from 6:00 PM until the funeral hour. Carol will be laid to rest on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, Indiana.
