David Bruce Steele passed away at St. Francis Hospital, Greenwood, IN on Tuesday, January 12 from complications due to COVID. He was born to Bruce and Virginia Steele and grew up on the southside of Indianapolis, attending Manual High School class of 1967. He married Donna Vine in August 1969 and they raised four children: Christopher (Tonya) Steele, Gabriel (Brenda) Steele, Julianna (Daniel) Briere, Josh Steele.

David was an ordained minister who graduated from Lincoln Christian College in 1971 and was passionate about serving God. He worked as a camp manager, missionary, minister, and Church leader and impacted the lives of many. He served God throughout the United States and around the world.

He found great joy being a grandfather to his eight grandchildren and he loved telling you how proud he was of them. He was known for his puns, jokes, and humor. He was an avid fan of the IU Hoosiers, Colts, and Cincinnati Reds.

David is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren and two sisters Beverly (Russell) Mathis, and Marilyn Steele. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of life for David will be held at Rocklane Christian Church, Greenwood, IN at 11:00am on Saturday, January 16th. Visitation will precede the service at 10:00am. Seth Amerine and Steve Brown will be officiating the service. David will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
