GREENWOOD
Howard W. Mitchell Jr., 76, passed away Thursday, February11, 2021 in Greenwood, Indiana. He was born on March 25, 1944 in Bloomington, Indiana to Howard W. and Lillian Mae (Erwin) Mitchell Sr. Many Knew him as Bill or Mitch.
Bill began working in the autobody industry early in life and owned his own body shop called Mitch’s Place. He loved working on cars, especially hot rods! Bill served many years as deacon at the Westside Assembly of God Church in Bloomington and the Harrodsburg Assembly of God.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Nancy (Wood) Mitchell, his parents and his sister, Eva Mae Brock.
He is survived by his daughter, Shannon (Rick) Owensby; son, Derrick (Barbi) Mitchell; grandchildren, Blake Mitchell, Jacob (Kimberly) Mitchell, Nathan Mitchell, and Zachariah Owensby; great grandchildren, Anniston Mitchell, and Tucker Mitchell.
The family will be having a private graveside service.
