Larry Dean McKee, Sr. passed away on Friday, March 12, 2021. He was a resident of Whiteland, IN.
He was born on September 19, 1938 in Franklin, IN to Halbert and Mabel (Ashley) McKee. He married Juanita Helen Jewel on April 7, 1959. She survives. Other survivors include his sons John McKee (Denise), Jeff McKee (April), Larry McKee, Jr, Douglas McKee (Donna), Neal McKee (Robin); grandchildren John McKee, Jr. (Hannah), Kaleena Sergent (Justin), Kyle McKee, Brandi Gootee (Ted), Josh McKee (Alicia), Reece McKee (Hannah), Joe McKee (Alexis), Keely Stevens (Austin), Kenzie McKee; and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in passing by his parents; brothers John McKee, Clifford Busie McKee; and his sister Margaret (Brown) McKee.
Larry was a graduate of Nineveh High School class of 1956.
He served in the United States Army from November 21, 1961 to May 21, 1962. He also served in the United States Army Reserve from July 31, 1985 to December 1, 1995.
Larry was a barber for over 60 years. He was a concrete truck driver for Ready Mix and IMI for 26 years.
He was a member of Drexel Gardens Apostolic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, and spending time in the woods.
Rev. Chaun Romine will conduct a service on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at 7:00pm at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home 2898 N. Morton St. Franklin, IN 46131. Friends may call from 4:00pm until the service time. Burial will be on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at 11:00am at Nineveh Cemetery.
