Two wanted in Whiteland armed robbery

Two men are wanted in connection with an armed robbery this weekend at a Whiteland gas station.

The robbery occurred about 6:05 a.m. Sunday at the Marathon at 9 S. U.S. 31, on the northeast corner of Whiteland Road. Both suspects drew guns and demanded money from the clerk. The gas station owner called his boss, who then called 9-1-1, said Tyler Croy, spokesperson for the Whiteland Police Department.

No one was injured during the robbery, but the suspects got away with money, he said. Police would not say how much was stolen.

The duo, who were captured on security camera footage, are described as white or light-skinned slender males.

One of them is about 5’9” or 5’10” and was wearing blue jeans, black tennis shoes and a gray Nike hooded sweatshirt with black letters. The other suspect was about 5’11”, wearing blue jeans, brown and white athletic shoes with a possible camo design, and a black Adidas hooded sweatshirt with white letters, according to a Whiteland Police Department news release.

Officers from multiple agencies searched the area using K9s and drones, but their efforts were unsuccessful. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and the Whiteland and New Whiteland police departments all responded to the scene, Croy said.
