<p><strong>To the Editor:</strong></p><p>When I was a child growing up near Pittsburgh, I was among the first to receive a polio vaccine that was developed by Dr. Jonas Salk.</p><p>I had three friends who had polio. There were no anti-vaxxers then and everyone got the vaccine and polio was eradicated.</p><p>Now, with the goal of eradicating COVID in sight, many are balking at getting this vaccine. I implore all to be good citizens, to please get the vaccine and help end this disease.
