Greenwood considers annexing 32 acres for 213 rental homes

More than 200 duplexes and townhomes could be coming to Greenwood’s northeast side.

Dorob Holdings, an Ohio-based developer, asked the City of Greenwood to annex 32.93 acres of farmland between 688 and 952 N. Combs Road, a few miles south of County Line Road, to build a 213-unit housing complex. Once annexed, the land would also need to be rezoned for residential multi-unit use.

The complex would be all rental units built by Pride One, an Ohio-based construction company. The community would consist of 117 attached ranch-style single-family houses, and 33 townhomes, all with garages. Rent would be set at market rate once the project is completed.

The Greenwood Advisory Plan Commission sent a favorable recommendation for the proposed annexation to the Greenwood City Council last month.

The proposal was presented for the first time to the council this week, and it will go through two votes and a public hearing over the next two meetings before a final decision is made.
