Couet 16th at Olympic Trials
Franklin graduate Michael Couet extended his stay at Wave I of the U.S. Olympic Team Trials by a few hours on Monday, earning a spot in the 200-meter breaststroke "B" final before placing 16th with a time of 2:18.44.
Couet, who now swims for Indiana University, put up a preliminary time of 2:17.39 to rank 11th going into the evening finals.
Another former Grizzly Cub, Cade Oliver, will compete in Wave II of the trials beginning next Monday.
