Greenwood man charged with trespassing

Prosecutors charged a Greenwood man with trespassing after he entered a home that wasn’t his while intoxicated.

Drew Patrick Baumgardner, 34, is charged with criminal trespass and public intoxication, both misdemeanors. If convicted, he could face up to about a year-and-a-half in jail.

Police were called shortly after 9 p.m. Oct. 1 to a house on Pebble Creek Drive in Greenwood. A woman reported there was an intoxicated man in her laundry room. When police arrived, three residents of the home were outside, and Baumgardner was sitting in the middle of the street, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in Johnson County Superior Court 3.

Police conducted a portable breathalyzer test which found that Baumgardner had a .498 blood alcohol level, more than six times the legal limit.

He remains at the Johnson County jail on $2,200 bond. An initial hearing is set for Oct. 21.
