Hoosier Lotto ticket worth $5 million sold in Franklin

A Hoosier Lottery ticket sold Friday at the Casey’s General Store in Franklin has made someone $5 million richer.

The purchaser of the jackpot ticket has not claimed their prize yet, so Hoosier Lottery officials are asking anyone who bought a ticket at Casey’s for the Saturday Hoosier Lotto drawing to check their tickets.

The winning numbers from the Saturday drawing are 1-23-28-29-31-42.

The ticket holder should ensure their ticket is kept secure, consider meeting with a financial advisor and contact Hoosier Lottery customer service to claim the prize, Hoosier Lottery officials say.

The unidentified female winner purchased one Quick Pick ticket for $4 on Friday, said Casey’s manager Jennifer Bower.

On that trip into Casey’s, the winner beat the Hoosier Lotto jackpot odds of one in 9.3 million, to match all six numbers exactly. Overall odds to match at least one number is one in six.

Selling the ticket that will make such a difference in someone’s life is gratifying, Bower said.

“I think that is pretty exciting. I don’t think I have been that close to someone who won that much money,” Bower said.

The last jackpot win was August 14, 2021, when a Plainfield man won $15.8 million after hitting all the numbers on a ticket purchased in Fort Wayne. The jackpot reached $5 million over the 22 drawings since then, lottery officials say.
