Norma Jean McQuinn, 93, of Columbus, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021 at her home. Norma was born November 11, 1928 in Franklin, IN to Carl Roscoe Sanders and Laura Brown Sanders. She married Richard D. McQuinn on November 24, 1948.
Norma graduated with her Bachelors and Masters Degree from Indiana University. She was a retired Home Economics teacher from Seymour High School after 20 years of service. Norma was a member of Fairlawn Presbyterian Church. She was an avid bridge player, enjoyed gardening, crafts and spending time with her faithful dog Sophie.
A private memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Four Seasons Retirement Center Chapel with Rev. Karen Hargett officiating. Entombment will be held at Garland Brook Cemetery Mausoleum.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bartholomew County Humane Society through the funeral home.
Survivors include her sons, Steven (Joyce) McQuinn of Woodstock, GA and Stan (Vicki Ross) McQuinn of Aurora, IL.; grandchildren, Amy (Cory) McQuinn Hussung, David (Jane) McQuinn, Seth (Kat) McQuinn, Cameron (Adam) Edwards, Megan (Gabriel) McQuinn Holbura; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Alaina and Chloe Hussung, Luke McQuinn, Andre, Marc, Eli and Mia Holbura, Makayla and Aubrey Pozywala, Katherine and Lily Edwards.
Norma was preceded in death by her father, Carl Roscoe Sanders; mother, Laura Sanders; husband, Richard D. McQuinn on April 11, 2013; sister, Barbara Sanders and granddaughter, Heather McQuinn Pozywala.
Arrangements are entrusted to Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
