College notebook: DeHart helps Bethel pick up win against Taylor

Bethel senior guard Jared DeHart scored 12 points, grabbed four rebounds and passed out three assists in the Pilots’ 91-86 loss at Clarke University in Iowa. The former Indian Creek standout had seven points, three assists and two steals in Bethel’s 75-66 win over Taylor.

Center Grove

Senior guard Cassidy Hardin had eight points, six rebounds and two assists as Purdue women’s basketball defeated visiting Rutgers, 60-58.

Vermont guard Emma Utterback finished with eight points, four assists and three rebounds in her team’s 60-37 loss at New Hampshire.

Junior guard Ella Thompson had eight points, four boards and three assists in Bentley’s 72-59 home win over MIT.

Indiana junior Trayce Jackson-Davis scored 20 points, grabbed five boards and blocked two shots in the Hoosiers’ 61-58 loss at Penn State.

Indiana Wesleyan guard Spencer Piercefield helped the Wildcats defeat Indiana Tech, 91-71, with nine points, six rebounds and eight assists. IWU then downed Grace College, 77-63, as Piercefield went for a team-high 23 points along with three assists and two steals.

University of Indianapolis guard Ben Nicoson had three points, five assists and three steals in the team’s 88-62 win over Edinboro, and 11 points and four rebounds in a 105-61 victory against East-West University.

Franklin

Huntington freshman guard Kyra Baker had two rebounds and a steal in the team’s 58-45 loss at Cumberland and three assists and two steals in a 60-47 loss at Midway. She added three points, three assists and two steals in her team’s 66-41 loss at St. Francis.

Whiteland

Franklin College junior Carter Crowe supplied the Grizzlies 10 points, five boards and a steal in their 72-57 triumph over Earlham. He scored 10 points in the team’s 71-64 home loss to Rose-Hulman.

Senior guard Sidney Crowe scored three points, grabbed three rebounds and had two assists to help St. Francis defeat visiting Oakland City, 92-63. She added four boards and an assist in the Cougars’ 66-41 win against Huntington.

Greenwood Christian

Freshman Styles McCorkle had two points and three rebounds for Wabash College men’s basketball in its 75-74 win at Oberlin.
