THOUSAND OAKS, Calif.
Donald E. Hall – It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Donald Eugene Hall on December 6th, 2021 at the age of 70 in Thousand Oaks, CA.
Donald was born in Bedford, IN on February 13th, 1951 and was a lifelong resident of Greenwood until 2007 when his work took him to the west coast. He was a graduate of Center Grove High School, where he met his wife and love of his life, Jerry. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. Their union was blessed with two children, Jennifer and Michael.
Don graduated from IU – Bloomington in ‘73 with a degree in Finance. While at IU, he was a member of Phi Sigma Kappa. Following graduation, he began his career with General Motors and later returned to IU to earn his Masters Degree. While working with GM, he served as Controller at Allison Transmission, Indianapolis for many years. He was also sent on work assignments around the world including Europe and Asia. His final chapter with GM led him to California where he settled in the Los Angeles suburb of Thousand Oaks and eventually retired.
After his retirement from General Motors, he took a position with Wholesome Harvest in Oxnard, CA for a few years before retiring for good. His grown children also migrated to Southern California and Don enjoyed spending time with family and spoiling his grandson, Jonah. He loved driving up and down the coast, sailing, hiking in the mountains (including the nine mile hike from Thousand Oaks to Malibu beach), and traveling. Don was an avid Indianapolis Colts and LA Dodgers fan, he enjoyed rooting for the teams from his living room and at games in
person as much as possible. His intelligence, special wit, biting humor, love and devotion to family will be dearly missed.
Don is survived by his wife Jerry (Barnd) Hall, daughter Jennifer (Hall) Feltis and her husband, Corey Feltis, son Michael Hall; grandson Jonah Feltis; siblings Beth (Hall) Thompson and her husband, Greg Thompson, Dennis Hall, and Brenda (Hall) Ballew, and loved ones Berniece (Bailey) Barnd, Gail (Barnd) Webb, Debra (Barnd) Snedegar, Joe Snedegar, Jolynn (Linder) Barnd, Susan (Barnd) Stuck and many nieces and nephews.
