Winter Weather Advisory issued for county

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis issued a Winter Weather Advisory starting Thursday for Johnson County and surrounding areas.

The advisory will be in effect from 1 p.m. Thursday to 4 a.m. Friday.

A mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain is expected in the central counties, including Johnson County, with an inch or two of snow/sleet and around a tenth of an inch of ice possible. Snow is expected in the northern counties of central Indiana with accumulations of up to 3 inches, according to the NWS.

The hazardous conditions will impact the Thursday evening commute and continue overnight, the NWS said.
