Franklin officials seeking volunteer award nominations

City of Franklin officials are accepting applications for the 2022 Volunteer of the Year Award. The award is presented to individuals who have displayed outstanding volunteer service in the community within the last year.

The award was created to recognize the extensive hours that volunteers contribute across the city each year, according to a press release from the city.

The volunteer award was named after a Franklin couple, Marty and Carolyn Williams, for their exemplary commitment of time, energy, and efforts to ensure events in Franklin run smoothly. The award is an opportunity for city officials to express gratitude and recognition for volunteers who give their time, the release continues.

Award recipients will receive city-wide recognition for their extraordinary efforts. The winner will be announced via social media and the winner will be recognized at a city council meeting. The winner’s name will also be added to a plaque that hangs in city hall, and they will get a certificate for their achievement, the release says.

Visit franklin.in.gov to fill out the form, which is located under News and Notices at the bottom of the homepage. Paper applications can also be picked up at city hall weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Nominations are due at 4 p.m. April 22.
