Public can comment on SR 252 project Wednesday

A public hearing for a State Road 252 reconstruction project is being held Wednesday in Edinburgh.

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) and USI Consultants, Inc. will hold public hearing at the Edinburgh Community High School cafeteria, 300 Keeley Street. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. to allow the public time to view displays and interact with project personnel before the meeting. A formal presentation will begin at 6 p.m.

The more than $6 million reconstruction project includes pavement replacement along State Road 252 between U.S. 31 and Interstate 65, a small structure replacement east of U.S. 31, and replacement and expansion of sidewalks along State Road 252. The project aims to enhance safety along the corridor and reset the service life of the roadway, INDOT officials say.

The public can submit questions and comments in-person at the information meeting or via email to Susan Castle, of Metric Environmental, at [email protected]. All comments to be sent by May 11.
