William “Bill” J. Gale

FRANKLIN, INDIANA

William “Bill” J. Gale, 65, resident of Franklin, IN, went to Heaven on Friday, April 29, 2022 at 7:47pm. He was born June 26, 1956 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, IN to parents William “Bill” F. Gale and Ellen (Wathen) Gale.

Bill attended Whiteland Community High School and graduated in 1975. He later worked at and retired from Allison Transmission. He met his wife on a double date and wed soon after on February 18, 1978; they have been married for 44 years. They had four wonderful children together. Bill enjoyed spending time with family and friends, camping, playing with his audio devices, and jamming out to his favorite music. He loved being a part of all his grandchildren’s activities, which included horseback riding, 4-H, basketball, baseball, football, wresting, gymnastics, track, and dance. He loved watching sports and sport shows, especially when his favorite team, the Indianapolis Colts, were playing. He was fond of movies and treasured going to church activities where he could spend time with his fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, praising and worshipping the Lord. He liked to stay busy and enjoyed sitting on his porch. The man couldn’t walk by a single person without saying “hello” and asking how their day was.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Linda Gale of Franklin, IN; his four children, William (Misty) Gale of Boggstown, IN, Sara (Issac) Strain of Waverly, IN, Evelyn (Marty) Ryan of Bowling Green, IN, and Hannah Gale of Franklin; eleven grandchildren; his mother, Ellen Gale of New Whiteland, IN; his brother and sisters, Steven (Jennifer) Gale of Franklin, Debra (Brian) Yates of New Whiteland, Brenda (Brian) Clark of Indianapolis, and Jennifer (Robert) Flodder of Franklin, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, William “Bill” F. Gale; his infant sister, Karen Sue Gale; his great-niece, Michelle Flodder, and his infant granddaughter, Katelyn Gale.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at 1:00pm at Jessen &Keller Funeral Homes ~ Whiteland Chapel with visitation from 11:00am until the service hour. Steve Nanny will be officiating.
