GREENWOOD
Barbara Jean Fordyce passed from this life on May 22, 2022 to reside in heaven with our Savior Jesus Christ. She is survived by her son’s Robert A. (Pamela) and Mark A. (Laura) Reese, a grandson Robert L. (Katie) Reese, a granddaughter Christina (Andie) Shaul, and three great grandchildren Marcus &Miles Reese, and Izabela Shaul. Additionally, she is survived by her step-son Stewart Fordyce and step-daughters Carol Fordyce and Cathy Maddox. She was proceeded in death by her husband Paul R. Fordyce and her parents Harold B. &Martha A. Evans Duncan. Barbara was a devoted Daughter, Wife, Mother, and Grandmother. Born Aug. 21, 1940 in Indianapolis she lived on the south side of Indianapolis graduating from Southport High school in 1958 then marring John R. Reese living in West Lafayette until moving to Greenwood in 1963. Following a divorce in 1975 she married Paul R. Fordyce in 1977 moving to the Center Grove area until retirement in 1998 then relocating to Englewood FL then back to Greenwood in 2006. She had been a house wife prior to becoming a school bus driver for Greenwood Community School Corp. in the 1980’s retiring in 1997. She resided in Greenwood Village South from 2017 until her passing. The family wishes to thank those at Greenwood Village South for looking after and caring of our mother during the past 5 years. Additionally, thank you Brighton Hospice for your additional care and attention for the last 9 days of her life. Mom will be missed immensely by her family however, we find comfort in knowing she is at peace with God in Heaven.
A memorial service for Barbara will be held Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Little &Sons Funeral Home, 4901 E Stop Eleven Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46237.
Barbara will be laid to rest at a later date in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Greenwood, Indiana.
