Robert Joseph (Bob) Hotopp, 86, of The Villages, FL, formerly of Greenwood, IN went to be with the Lord on June 13, 2022.
He left to cherish his memory is his wife of 40 years, Mary. Together they helped raise a blended family of three sons, Jeff Hotopp (Johanna) of Franklin, IN, Tony Hotopp (Nancy) of Indianapolis, IN and Bill Hotopp (Debbie) of Franklin, IN; and two daughters; Polly Jones (Jeff) of Galveston , TX and Pam Taylor of The Villages, FL; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren; and two brothers, Tom Hotopp (Alice) of Dayton, OH and Jim Hotopp (Marcia) of Bluffton, IN. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Tim Hotopp.
Bob was raised in Richmond IN where he graduated from Richmond High School in 1954. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Depauw University, and MBA degrees from Indiana University and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from its School of Law. He then became a CPA and beloved Professor of Law and Accounting at Indiana University for 37 years.
In 2000, Bob and Mary started their new adventure in The Villages, where he enjoyed many years as a starter on De La Vista golf course and as a Gate Attendant at the Morse N Gate, where his infectious smile rewarded him with cookies and donuts.
Bob especially loved his family and his church family at The Garden Worship Center , 12740 SE County Rd 484, Belleview, FL where his Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 25, at 11AM.
