Trojans finish 17th at national tourney
A Center Grove quintet representing Indiana closed strong on Wednesday to finish in a 17th-place tie at the NHSGA High School Golf National Invitational in Pinehurst, North Carolina. The Trojans shot a total of 309 in the final round to end up at 946 for the tournament, deadlocked with Connecticut and 71 strokes behind the winning team from Georgia.
Jack Kristel paced Center Grove on Wednesday with a round of 76, while Luke Beetz and Ted Lasaru each added a 77 and Nate Olson fired a 79. Beetz was the Trojans’ top overall individual finisher with a three-round total of 235.
