TRAFALGAR
Michael A. ‘Mike’ Mitchell, age 74, passed away Monday morning, August 15, 2022 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. He was a resident of Trafalgar.
Mike was born August 12, 1948 in Franklin, to his parents, the late Adrian G. ‘Ade’ and Christine F. (Brunnermer) Mitchell. He was a 1965 graduate of Trafalgar High School and went on to retire in 1995 as a Union Carpenter where he worked as a Surveyor for Gradex. He was a member of the Laborers International Union Local 121 in Indianapolis.
Mike enjoyed singing and playing his guitar, riding motorcycles and visiting flea markets. He also enjoyed watching old western movies and television shows, with his favorite actors being John Wayne and Clint Eastwood. Mike was a huge fan of Elvis Presley and collected his albums, Elvis memorabilia and visited Graceland. Most of all, he loved telling stories and spending time with his friends and family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ronda Lee (Kean) Mitchell, whom he married on June 21, 2017 in Morgantown. Mike is also survived by his son, Shannon R. Mitchell of Greenwood; step daughters, Amanda Hewitt of Princes Lakes and Rebecca (Chris) Stargel of Russell Springs, KY; daughter in law, Christine Mitchell of Trafalgar; grandchildren, Jacob Mitchell of Trafalgar, Dalton Mitchell of Montana and Mary Tetters of Trafalgar; and great grandchildren, Lexi, Ellis, Wade and Westin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark Mitchell; and a sister, Marlene Jackson.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation &Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at First Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Franklin.
