Volleyball

Warriors sweep Hawks

Whiteland picked up a 25-15, 25-17, 25-17 conference victory over Decatur Central on Tuesday. Kennedi Morrison led the Warriors with 12 kills, while Ashlyn Ricketts contributed six kills and three blocks.

Lancers earn five-set win

Edinburgh held on for a 25-20, 26-28, 25-17, 24-26, 15-5 triumph over Oldenburg Academy. Gracie Crawhorn had 12 kills, eight blocks, seven aces and 35 digs to lead the Lancers, with Kyah Streeval adding 33 assists and 19 digs in the marathon win.

Trojans swept by Carmel

Center Grove was defeated by rival Carmel, 36-34, 25-17, 25-8 on Tuesday.

Trojans edge Quakers

Ninth-ranked Center Grove pulled out a 3-2 victory over No. 26 Plainfield on Tuesday. Max Williams and Carson Bush got the clinching point at first doubles for the Trojans, while Daksh Patel and Evan Davis won at No. 2 doubles and Quinn Smith earned a point at third singles.

Whiteland blanks Decatur

Dropping just two games in the bottom four matches, Whiteland rolled past Decatur Central, 5-0. Spencer Gillespie, Ty McCullars and Carson Baumann took the three singles points for the Warriors (5-3), who got doubles wins from Chase and Kai Koester at No. 1 and Gavin Stubbe and Jeremiah Hurt at No. 2.

Braves top Mustangs

Indian Creek maintained its perfect record with a 4-1 triumph over Edgewood. Peyton Strunk and Brendan Conner won in the top two singles positions for the Braves (8-0, 4-0 WIC), while Aiden Pemberton and Landon Sichting came out on top at first doubles and the No. 2 pair of Trent Volz and Aaron Spurgeon was also a winner.

Woodmen nipped by Pioneers

Greenwood lost to Mooresville, 3-2, after dropping a pair of three-set matches. Noah Paswater won at first singles for the Woodmen (8-4, 3-2 Mid-State), while Ben Cruser and Will Davidson added a point at No. 2 doubles.

Whiteland suffered a 2-0 setback against Decatur Central, falling to 1-6 overall and 0-2 in the Mid-State Conference.

Royals overpower Warren

Isaac Gomez and Eli Miller each scored two goals in Roncalli’s 6-1 victory over Warren Central. Christian Maldonado and Anthony Dueñas added one goal apiece for the Royals, while Geovany Bocanegra-Llanos had two assists.

Creek wins three-way

Hannah Emenhiser’s 41 led all scorers and helped Indian Creek defeat Edgewood and South Putnam in tight conference matches on Tuesday. Reese Tunell and Bailey Dowty each shot 54 for the Braves, with Christole Baugh adding a 55.

Roncalli edged by Falcons

Despite a 46 from Elsie Kerr, Roncalli finished on the losing end of a 212-222 score against Perry Meridian at Smock.
