NEW WHITELAND, INDIANA
David Graves Mitchell, 88, of New Whiteland, Indiana, went to be with his Lord and Savior August 30, 2022.
He was born May 5, 1934 in Clark Township, Indiana to Lloyd Morris and Carrie Margaret (Graves) Mitchell, who preceded him in death. He married Delphia Charlene McTarsney December 3, 1955, who preceded him in death in June 2008. He attended Solid Rock Church in Whiteland, Indiana.
David grew up mostly in Brown and Johnson Counties and attended a one-room schoolhouse in Gatesville, Indiana. He worked for Robert’s Dairy, then Kroger Warehouse in Indianapolis and retired from there.
David is survived by his four sons, David E. Mitchell of Nineveh, IN, Stewart W. Mitchell of New Whiteland, IN, Kevin W. (Amy) Mitchell of Indianapolis, IN, and Todd A. (Gina) Mitchell of Whiteland, IN; two grandsons, Philip A. (Casondra) Mitchell of Indianapolis, IN and Brandon A. (Alexis) Mitchell of Indianapolis, IN; three sisters, Ruth Anderson of Grafton, ND, Judy (Richard) Byers of Royal Center, IN, and Gayle (Mark) Doucey of The Villages, FL. He had three step-grandchildren, eight step-great-grandchildren, and two step-great-great-grandchildren.
David was preceded in death by two brothers, Roland Mitchell and Charles Mitchell, and one sister, Shirley Barnard.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2022 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Jessen & Keller Funeral Homes ~ Whiteland Chapel with funeral service on Friday, September 9th at 11:00am at Solid Rock Church, located at 69 Center Street, Whiteland, IN 46184. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, Indiana.
