Boys tennis

Whiteland sweeps Franklin

Whiteland took care of business in its annual rivalry match with Franklin, claiming a 5-0 win. Spencer Gillespie, Ty McCullars and Carson Baumann took the three singles points for the Warriors (6-4), Chase Koester and Kai Koester were victorious at first doubles and Isaac Phegley and Gavin Stubbe came out on top at second doubles.

Lancers edge Twisters

A three-set triumph from the No. 1 doubles team of Bailey Totten and Braylon Lenkner allowed Edinburgh to pull out a 3-2 victory over Oldenburg Academy. The Lancers also got points at first and third singles from Max Blandford and Milas Burkman.

Trojans fall to Bull Dogs

No. 8 Center Grove suffered a 3-2 loss at seventh-ranked Columbus North. The Trojans got wins from Loc Pham at second singles and the tandem of Daksh Patel and Evan Davis at No. 2 doubles.

Volleyball

Braves outlast Edinburgh in five

Led by 17 kills and six blocks from Faith Wiseman, Indian Creek rallied for a 21-25, 25-19, 21-25, 25-17, 15-11 win over Edinburgh on Thursday. Grayson Burkett had 30 assists and Sav Hall 19 digs for the Braves. Gracie Crawhorn totaled 12 kills and 12 digs in defeat for the Lancers, while Kyah Streeval contributed 34 assists and three aces.

Trojans fall in five sets

Center Grove lost to Perry Meridian, 21-25, 25-20, 26-24, 19-25, 15-7. The Trojans fall to 7-10 on the season.

Royals sweep Artesians

Logan Bell had 11 kills and Faith Burch collected eight kills, 16 assists, 10 digs and two aces to lead Roncalli to a 25-15, 25-13, 25-15 victory over Martinsville.

Girls golf

Woodmen claim three-way win

Greenwood turned in a team score of 190 to beat both Southport and Decatur Central at Southern Duners on Thursday. Emma Baker led the way for the Woodmen with a 42, followed closely by Lucia Agresta (44) and Gracie Gasaway (45).

Warriors win at home

Chloe Cooper was the medalist with a 49 as Whiteland picked up a 211-227 victory over Brown County at The Legends. Kylie McGovern and Karley Hoagland each added a 53 for the Warriors.

Miscellany

Franklin’s Harris recognized

Tony Harris, the athletic director at Franklin Community Middle School, has been recognized as a Certified Athletic Administrator by the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association. Harris earned the voluntary certification through a process that includes a background evaluation and a comprehensive written exam.

Harris doubles as the varsity boys soccer coach at the high school.
