Indian Creek football wins at Edgewood

Senior quarterback Arjun Lothe threw six touchdown passes on Friday night to lead Indian Creek to a 48-20 win at Edgewood in a Western Indiana Conference contest.

Two of Lothe’s scoring strikes wound up in the hands of freshman Jaxon Ramey; the Braves led 41-17 at halftime and held on from there.

First-year Braves coach Casey Gillin saw some things he liked and others he didn’t with his team’s performance as Indian Creek improved to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in WIC play.

“Edgewood has an unbelievable facility, and our kids were excited to play here,” Gillin said after winning on the Mustangs’ signature red turf. “But we played a little sloppy, and we didn’t have a toughness factor in the first half.

“I like that our kids noticed they weren’t playing hard, and they turned it on.”

Indian Creek returns home on Friday when it hosts Brownstown Central.
