James Joseph Zameska, Jr.

WHITELAND

Deeply beloved, James Joseph Zameska, Jr. age 55, of Whiteland, Indiana passed away suddenly on September 21, 2022. He was born December 31, 1966, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late James J. Zameska Sr. and Evelyn Zameska Lenox.

James is survived by his longtime loving companion, Linda Kay Leamon; his stepfather, Walter Lenox; his sister, Carla; brother, Christopher; brother, Frank; his aunt, Faith; and his beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.

James proudly served his country in the United States Navy. During the Persian Gulf War, James was officially commended for exhibiting extraordinary bravery in battle at sea. Jim carried on serving, as a career city letter carrier with the United States Post Office for over 25 years.

Jim was fascinated to explore our Indiana State Parks, our National Parks and Historic Sites, and to visit our museums, theatres, and sporting events. Jim revered Nature as a miraculous creation and was compassionate to all wildlife and domestic animals. He shared great love and joy with his magnificent Akita canine companions, Ace, Shelby and Tia, and his faithful feline friend, RazzMaTazz.

Jim was a friend to all and was a regular blood donor. Jim will be deeply missed by his cherished Post Office family, his dear daily comrades in challenging loyal service to our fellow citizens. He respected and cared for all the residents on his downtown Greenwood mail route. All were confident, year after year, to rely upon his absolute trustworthiness and his respectful, thoughtful consideration. Daily, we all were uplifted by his friendly demeanor and reassured by his gentle smile.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 29, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 6:30 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Thompson Road Chapel, 3333 East Thompson Road, Indianapolis.www.shirleybrothers.com.
