Boys soccer

Cougars roll in sectional opener

Greenwood Christian blanked Bloomington Lighthouse 3-0 in the opening round of the Class A White River Valley Sectional on Monday. The Cougars (6-7-3) got the only offense they needed when Patrick Taber scored off an assist from Parker Satre. Joel Flint added an unassisted tally and Caden Camden closed out the scoring by finishing off a Luke McNichols assist. Colton Flint made three saves to preserve the clean sheet.

GCA advances to play a Wednesday semifinal match against Eminence, which lost to Lighthouse by a 9-0 count in September.

Volleyball

Trojans prevail in five

Center Grove rallied from a set down to pull out a 25-11, 27-29, 23-25, 25-13, 15-11 home win over Franklin Central on Monday evening. The victory improves the Trojans’ record to 15-14.
