Here’s the latest on I-69 construction in Johnson County

Johnson County drivers can expect a break in construction work leading up to Thanksgiving.

Crews will pause their work at noon Wednesday in preparation for increased traffic, but motorists should still exercise caution as cleanup work may take place on the shoulders of State Road 37. Large trucks will be present on northbound State Road 37 as they deliver beams between Fairview Road and Bluffdale Drive early this week. Construction crews will place the beams after the holiday weekend, according to a weekly update from the Indiana Department of Transportation.

In Marion County, work to remove median barrier walls on Interstate 465 between Mann Road and State Road 37 will require left lane closures from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday and Tuesday night. Drivers can also expect a right lane closure on I-465 between Lick Creek Road and U.S. 31 through Tuesday night. Waterline work at the State Road 37 and I-465 interchange will continue through early December, INDOT officials say.

In Morgan County, the construction crews will install right-of-way fencing and cable barriers along the State Road 37 shoulder this week, requiring drivers to slow down. Drivers should also stay alert for deer and wildlife in the early morning and evening hours, INDOT officials say.
