Leadership Johnson County plans workshops on diversity, love language

Leadership Johnson County is hosting workshops in January on topics surrounding diversity and tapping into love language as a leadership tactic.

The first workshop is set for on Jan. 18 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Johnson County Armory on the topic of Strategies and Practical Tools for Diverse Environments. Facilitated by Julie Gahimer, the workshop is one for people who want to learn how to lead effectively in a diverse workplace. The workshop will touch on how we all view the world from different perspectives, have different experiences, communicate differently and make decisions differently.

The second workshop will be on Jan. 26 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Greenwood Christian Church on the topic of Taking Your Love Language to Work. Facilitated by Matt Giebler, this workshop will explore how to improve communication in the workplace with the idea that everyone has different preferences to receive feedback and appreciation. The workshop is aimed at leaders who want to improve employee engagement and retention by tapping into and understanding emotions.

Registration is required for both workshops. The cost is $59 per person/per workshop for Leadership Johnson County Signature Program graduates, Franklin College alumni, Franklin and Indy Chamber of Commerce members, as well as Aspire Johnson County members. Members of the general public can attend for $69 per person. Group discounts are available.
