Carolyn May Throckmorton

Carolyn May Throckmorton, 90, of Homosassa, FL passed away on January 25, 2023. Carolyn was born on November 1, 1932, in Franklin, IN to Charles R. and Melvina (May) Church. She was a 1951 graduate of Greenwood High School. Prior to moving to Florida with her husband to enjoy retirement, Carolyn had been a longtime bookkeeper for several local companies, including Clarke Appliances and the State of Indiana. She had also been a longtime bus driver for the Greenwood Community School System. Carolyn’s family was the most important thing to her, and she spent her lifetime supporting them. When not tending to her family, Carolyn was an avid animal lover, and she had many pets over the course of her life. Most recently, she helped raise and care for African Grey Parrots, and other species of birds.

Carolyn is survived by her children: Cheryl (Keith) Brooks of Brooksville, FL, Bruce (Helen) Throckmorton of Greenwood, and Melia (Doug) Vandivier of Franklin; grandchildren: Dustin Vandivier of Whiteland, Mindy (John) Williams of Franklin, and Danielle (Bill) Lakes of Indianapolis; great grandchildren: Matthew Kuzmic, Avery Vandivier, Adalyn Vandivier, Emma Williams, Doran Lakes, Kate Williams and Gabe Lakes. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Maurice, siblings: Kenneth Church and Charlene Hoffmann; grandchildren: Matthew Throckmorton and Kristi Kelley.

Funeral services for Carolyn will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 3, 2023, at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, 481 West Main Street Greenwood. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Greenwood Cemetery.
