MORGAN COUNTY
Dennis M. Cook, 74, a longtime Morgan County resident, passed from his earthly life in the comfort of his home with loved ones by his side on Monday, January 30, 2023. He was born August 5, 1948, in Franklin, Indiana to the late Floyd Dayton and Nellie Louise (McPhearson) Cook.
His childhood was spent in Franklin, and he graduated from Franklin High School. He retired from AT&T after 30 years of service. He was an avid golfer, talented oil and acrylic artist, coached little league and coed softball and baseball and he enjoyed playing games while making new rules to his benefit.
He was a member of the AT&T Pioneers, YMCA and the General Assembly Church of the Firstborn.
He leaves behind a host of loving family including his wife, Cynthia A. Conley of Martinsville; son, Rick Alan Cook (wife, Desiree) of Poughquag, NY; daughters, N. Michelle Beaton (husband, Bradley) of Martinsville and Christina Marie Conley Hitt (husband, Davey) of Grable, Indiana; brothers, Mike Cook (wife, Ilsa) of Whitestown, Indiana and Jonathon Mark Cook (wife, Carla) of Texas; sister, Caroline Webb of Whiteland, Indiana; eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Talue Watkins, Mary Jane Funkhouser and Betty Schmidt.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, February 2, 2023, from 4:00-7:00 pm and Friday, February 3rd one hour prior to service time at Neal &Summers Funeral &Cremation Center. A service celebrating Dennis’s life will begin at 2:00 pm Friday at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at New South Park Cemetery in Martinsville.
