Softball stays alive in tourney

Eriana Wagner hit a pair of two-run homers Friday as Franklin College advanced into the championship round of the HCAC tournament on Friday by holding on for a 4-3 triumph over Hanover. The third-seeded Grizzlies (31-13) also beat Manchester, 11-3, earlier in the day, putting the game away with seven runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Stephanni Kleber was the winning pitcher for Franklin College in both contests.

Baseball moves into HCAC final

Jackson Young pitched a complete game and Luke Willmann had three RBIs as top-seeded Franklin College moved into the HCAC tournament championship game with a 7-3 win over No. 2 Transylvania on Friday afternoon. The Grizzlies (32-10) play for the title and an NCAA Division III tournament berth today at 4:30 p.m.

Braves hammer Lancers

Bryce Harmon hit a home run and had five RBIs to lead Indian Creek to a 20-0 home victory over Edinburgh on Friday. Carter Modlin knocked in four runs for the Braves (10-7).

Warriors fall at Shelbyville

Whiteland suffered a 15-5 setback at Shelbyville. Blake Riddle and Drew Helton each had two hits for the Warriors (10-11), with Riddle scoring a pair of runs.
