Royals repeat as state champions

Roncalli successfully defended its IBVCA state championship by defeating Fishers, 21-25, 25-19,25-19, 26-24, in the title match on Saturday at Lafayette Jefferson. The Royals (33-5) advanced to the final by sweeping Perry Meridian in a three-set semifinal earlier in the day.

Cougars club Metropolitan

Greenwood Christian steamrolled its way into the championship game at the Class A Morristown sectional with a 24-0 rout of Indianapolis Metropolitan on Saturday afternoon. Charlie Overton had four RBIs for the Cougars (13-12-1), who will face Indianapolis Lutheran in this morning’s title tilt.

Trojans second at Providence

Brady Schier was the individual medalist with a round of 70, leading Center Grove to a second-place finish in the Providence Invitational at Champions Pointe on Saturday. The Trojans finished with a team score of 299, three shots behind winner Evansville North.
