Whiteland Community Night Out set for Friday

The town of Whiteland is hosting a community night out with axe throwing, food, shopping and more Friday.

The Whiteland Community Night Out will take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Whiteland Town Hall, 549 E. Main St. All proceeds from the event will go toward the long-term recovery efforts from the Whiteland Tornado that hit the town on March 31.

Planned activities include a kids inflatable activity, Johnson County Axe Throwing, live music featuring The Big 80s and free food provided by LJ’s Snack Shack. Beer and wine provided by Whit’s Inn and Mallow Run Winery will be available for purchase, according to the town.

Marketplace Shops will be open, and will feature Welch’s Holiday Farm, Sweet Spot Bakery, Skull and Mortar and The Wise Woman Shoppe. A fireworks show sponsored by Bailey & Wood Financial Group is also planned, town officials say.
