Grizzly Cubs bring McKinney back
Jeremy McKinney, a star at Franklin before going on to pitch at the collegiate and professional levels, was named as the Grizzly Cubs’ new head coach on Monday evening. He succeeds Ryan Feyerabend, who stepped down at the end of the 2023 season.
After leading Franklin to county, conference and sectional championships in 2013, McKinney played college baseball at Northwest Florida State Community College and Indiana State. He was drafted by the Washington Nationals in the 31st round of the 2017 MLB draft and pitched in their organization for three seasons before injuries forced him to retire.
McKinney served as an assistant on Feyerabend’s staff the last two seasons as a pitching instructor.
