Here’s what’s going on with I-69 this week

Construction work will continue near the Smith Valley Road interchange with Interstate 69, which opened to southbound traffic last month.

Between 9 p.m. and midnight Thursday, there will be southbound ramp closures at Smith Valley Road as construction crews install high mast lighting fixtures. During that time, traffic will be detoured to County Line Road. Northbound traffic will continue to use County Line Road as a detour until northbound ramps open at Smith Valley Road later this year, according to a weekly construction update from the Indiana Department of Transportation.

Elsewhere in Johnson County, northbound State Road 37 will be limited to a single lane under the County Road 144 bridge in both directions until October. During that time, crews will continue working on the mainline over Bluff Creek just south of the interchange, INDOT officials say.

In Marion County, there will be nighttime single-lane closures on Interstate 465 between Kentucky Avenue and U.S. 31 this week. The closures will enable maintenance and structure installation work. Drivers should also be aware of possible 20-minute traffic stoppages nightly between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. on Bluff Road, Meridian Street and Harding Street. The southbound U.S. 31/East Street ramp to I-465 westbound will remain closed until next year, INDOT officials say.
