Both of Johnson County’s remaining girls soccer teams suffered identical fates on Friday night, losing sectional semifinal matches by the same 3-1 score.
Center Grove fell at Class 3A Bloomington South, while Whiteland suffered a home setback against Roncalli.
Both games had been scheduled for Thursday but were pushed back due to inclement weather.
The Warriors (11-6-1) battled to a scoreless draw in the first half before falling behind against the Royals. Alexa LaPorte helped Whiteland avoid a shutout loss with her second-half goal, but the team couldn’t make up the full deficit after falling behind.
Roncalli (10-5-3) will play Franklin Central for a sectional crown tonight.
Meanwhile, the Trojans (6-5-5) fell into a 1-0 hole against the Panthers in the first half and never recovered. Mia Marlin scored the lone goal for the visitors after the intermission.
