Danny Edward Henderson

WHITELAND

Danny Edward Henderson passed from this earth on Saturday evening, November 4, 2023, at his home in Whiteland. He was 72 years of age.

Danny was born on November 15, 1950, at St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove, Indiana. He was the only child of Jack Albert Henderson and Martha Louise Henderson (née Roberts). He served in the United States Army for three years and was honorably discharged after his tour. During that time, he met and married Beverly Ann who is his loving spouse of 51 years. They were married in Indianapolis, Indiana, two days before Valentine’s Day, in 1972. He was a graduate of Whiteland Community High School in 1969, where he spent most of his time playing with his rock band, Tom Thumb And His Magic Fingers, and working on cars. He worked at the Meridian Drive-In in Greenwood, where his father was the manager. He spent many a summer night, working and watching classic movies.

Danny lived in Whiteland for most of his life and worked for a major Industrial Equipment Company. He also owned Bargain Bicycles, a prominent bicycle shop which attracted many avid outdoor athletes and enthusiasts. When he wasn’t at work, he enjoyed spending time with his beloved wife, children, and grandchildren. He was a devout Christian, and member of Shiloh Community Church in Franklin, Indiana.

On any given day, Danny could be found tinkering in his garage, making windchimes, Christmas decorations, or tuning up his 1950 Studebaker. He was such a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He could never say no when someone needed his help and was always there to listen when someone needed a friend. He was scarcely at a loss for words and would often make people laugh with his incredible sense of humor, and quick wit. The love he imprinted on our hearts will remain forever.

Danny is survived by his loving family: Beverly Ann Henderson (née Merritt), son Jason Henderson, and daughter Sandra Lynn Wehr (née Henderson). His legacy extends further through his grandchildren: Jackson, Bella, Finley, Madi, Nolan, and Soren, and Mike of Four Paws.
