Greenwood man charged with 7 child sex crimes

A Greenwood man was arrested following the report of years-long sexual abuse of a minor.

Jeremy D. Blaker, 45, was charged Tuesday with seven child sex crimes: two counts of child molesting as a Level 1 felony, three counts of rape as a Level 3 felony, child seduction as a Level 5 felony, and child exploitation as a Level 5 felony.

The incidents reportedly started when the child was approximately 8 years old and continued until sometime before the incident was reported to Johnson County Sheriff’s Office in 2023. Abuse of different types escalated over the years and culminated in multiple incidents of rape, according to court documents filed with Johnson County Superior Court 2.

In addition to the teen’s testimony, there is photo and video evidence on a cell phone found in Blaker’s residence. The evidence collected includes nude photographs and videos depicting sexual acts that were taken between June and November 2022. Blaker can reportedly be seen operating the camera in some of the videos, court documents say.

Blaker reportedly made threats to the teen to get them to comply. The video evidence shows at least one instance where he made a threat, court documents say.

His bond at the Johnson County jail was initially set at $500,000. An initial hearing was held Thursday and his attorneys requested to review the bond amount.
