Man shot in Urmeyville has died; female suspect faces murder charge

A man injured in a shooting in Urmeyville has died, with the woman suspected of shooting him now facing a murder charge.

Jacob Pascal Harville, 35, of Franklin, died as a result of his injuries on Wednesday, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday. He had been at Franciscan Health Indianapolis following a Feb. 5  shooting at a home in the 3000 block of N. County Road 625 East in Urmeyville, northeast of Franklin.

Alicia Marie Haupt, 33, of Franklin was arrested on preliminary felony charges of attempted murder, auto theft and pointing a firearm. She is suspected of shooting Harville, and her address on jail bookings matches the one where the alleged shooting took place.

With Harville’s death, the sheriff’s office have upgraded the charges against Haupt. She is now held without bond at the Johnson County jail on preliminary charges of murder, conversion and pointing a firearm, according to a news release.

The Johnson County Prosecutor’s Office has also been notified of Harville’s death. A probable cause affidavit with the updated charges has been given to the prosecutor’s office, which will have a copy of the affidavit available once formal charges are filed, the news release says.

Formal charges are expected to be filed on Monday, said Lance Hamner, Johnson County prosecutor.
