GREENWOOD
Mary L. Adams, 95, passed away Friday evening, March 15, 2024. She was a long-time resident of Greenwood.
She was born May 21, 1928, in Terre Haute, IN to Virgil and Ruby Shepherd Nickless. She married George Adams on July 27, 1946. He preceded her in death April 14, 2022.
Survivors include her two daughters, Joyce (Rick) Spilker of Indianapolis and Jan (Paul) Drexler of Louisville, KY; one son, Gary B. (Teresa) Adams of Cloverdale; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Adams; and four brothers, Joe Nickless, Harold “Nick” Nickless, John Nickless, and Lloyd Nickless.
Mary was a professional seamstress, and later was an administrative assistant at IUPUI for over thirteen years.
She was a member of Southland Community Church in Greenwood.
Visitation will take place from 11-1PM, Thursday, at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service &Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, 481 W. Main Street, Greenwood. Rev. Kerry Huffman will officiate a funeral service to follow at 1PM at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
