Grizzly Cubs open with sweep

Franklin got its outdoor season started Wednesday by sweeping Perry Meridian, with the boys winning 82-36 and the girls claiming a 69-49 victory. Kellen Shaff led the boys with first-place finishes in the 110 and 300 hurdles, while Evan Griggs (discus), Carson Sommers (pole vault), Alex Leugers (100), Aidan Jefry (200), Isaiah Tunis (800), Liam Fennig (1,600) won along with the 4×100 and 4×400 relays. For the girls, Emma Bertel (shot put and discus), Lauren Klem (800 and 1,600) and Aubrey Runyon (100 hurdles, 300 hurdles) were double winners, with Sami Frazier (200), Hanna Stewart (400) and the 4×400 relay also victorious.

Franklin falls against Quakers

Franklin suffered a 12-5 loss against Plainfield on Wednesday. The Grizzly Cubs got two hits each from Addie Martin and Aubrey Leugers as well as a double from Amaya Coit.

Boys volleyball

Warriors split a pair

Whiteland topped Tri-West in straight sets on Wednesday, 25-14, 25-19, but took a two-set loss against Southport.

Grizzly Cubs take Carmel in three

Franklin finished off a 25-23, 27-25, 25-14 sweep of Carmel. Charlie Sanders had 34 assists for the Grizzly Cubs (9-3), while Jackson Clements served five aces and Jacob Miller led the attack with 14 kills.
