Betty A. (Wesley) Sneed, 84, of Franklin, IN passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Saturday, March 23, 2024.
Betty was born in Ansel, Kentucky on September 23, 1939, to the late Shedric C. Wesley and Bertha E. (Wheeler) Wesley.
She had worked for eight years at Varynit Mills – Garment Factory in Franklin, IN and later twenty-eight years at Johnson Memorial Hospital in the sterile supply services.
Her hobbies were doll collecting, quilting and crocheting. Betty loved to travel, working in the church, and serving the Lord.
Survivors include her two daughters Vicky McArtor-McAdams (Leon) of DeWitt, MI and Lucinda McMillian (Johnny Buck) of Franklin, IN, two sons Timothy Sneed of Franklin, IN and Ricky Sneed (Vickie) of Nineveh, IN, eight grandchildren Ronelle Thompson (Kevin), Trent McArtor (Missy), Janelle Bailey (Jason), Matt Barker (Jenni Arwood), Nathan McMillian, Amy Gover (Seth), Chris Sneed (Lena) and Jason Sneed, twenty-one great-grandchildren Tyler, Kloe and Ella Thompson, Kaelan, Kendall and Kyla McArtor, Gracey, Hailey and Maggie Barker, Lexus McMillian, Justin Dick, Jordan Lanter (Hadleigh), Connor Lanter, Mackenzie, Skylar, Cadence, Cason, Peyton and Zane Bailey, Braxton and Easton Sneed, one great-great-granddaughter Ashlyn Lanter, and a host of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who she loved very much.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years Roscoe Sneed whom she married on May 25, 1955, and who departed from this life on March 13, 2006, her parents Shedric C. Wesley and Bertha E. (Wheeler) Wesley, two brothers Herman Wesley and Oscar Wesley, eight sisters Gladys Wesley, Thelma Haste, Jane Wesley, Dora Hall, Ruth Flory, Sylvia Hodge, Evelyn Wesley and Kathleen Shubert, one great-grandson Cadence Bailey.
Her great grandson Tyler Thompson will conduct a service on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at 1PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com. Friends may call Wednesday, March 27, 2024, from 4PM until 8PM at the mortuary and Thursday from 12 Noon until service time. Burial will follow the service at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN.
